The Montessori method is as new and as relevant today as it was 150 years ago when it was first implemented in Italy.
For us, they key principles are;
The Montessori Method of Education, developed by Maria Montessori, is a child-centred educational approach based on scientific observations of children. Montessori’s method has been used for over 150 years in many parts of the world. The Montessori method views the child as the one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It attempts to develop children physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. It is an approach to learning which emphasizes active learning, independence, cooperation, and learning in harmony with each child’s unique pace of development. It is an approach to education which emphasizes individuality and independence in learning.
We want children to have the best possible start to their education with us, and to have the very best of all worlds – great Montessori teaching, a beautiful and interesting environment to investigate, inside and out, and fantastic play experiences to explore and discover freely.
